U.S. retail giant Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. plans to double the number of its stores to 40 in central China's Hubei over the next five years, Ray Bracy, Senior Vice President of the company's China Corporate Affairs said on November 11, 2014.
Three shopping plazas will also be opened in Wuhan, Xianning and Huangshi in 2015.
Meanwhile, Wal-Mart has set up a logistics center in Wuhan to boost its e-commerce business.
Currently, Wal-Mart opened 20 stores in 8 Hubei cities with retail sales volume exceeding 1 trillion Yuan (US$ 161.62 billion) in 2013.
