The Wuhan office of Taiwan Business Bank (TBB) was put into operation on Dec. 29, 2015. It was TBB’s second branch office in mainland China following that in Shanghai and the second Taiwan-funded bank in central China.

As known, the Land Bank of Taiwan opened a branch office in Wuhan on Nov. 17, 2015 as its third branch office in mainland China following that in Shanghai and Tianjin, as well as the first Taiwan-funded bank in central China.

The Wuhan office of Land Bank of Taiwan will be mainly engaged in helping Taiwan enterprises expand investment in Wuhan, while TBB’s Wuhan branch will provide fund for start-up business.

The settlement of the two banks marked that Hubei-Taiwan economy and trade cooperation has expanded to financial field, which is favorable for small and medium Taiwan-funded enterprises to get loans.

Note:
Land Bank of Taiwan is a wholly state-owned bank of the Republic of China (ROC). It was owned by the Taiwan Provincial Government before its downsizing on December 21, 1998, when it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Executive Yuan. It is the only bank designated by the ROC government as a specialized bank for handling real estate and agricultural credit. Its objective is to develop national economic construction in coordination with the implementation of the government's housing, agricultural, and land policies.

Taiwan Business Bank was transformed into a private bank on Jan.22, 1998 to cope with the liberalized and internationalized financial environment, and to conform to the government’s policy of privatizing state-owned enterprises. The Bank’s domestic branch network covers the whole island. In addition there are five overseas units, including Los Angeles Branch in US, Sydney Branch and Brisbane Branch in Australia, Hong Kong Branch in Hong Kong, Shanghai Branch and Wuhan Branch in mainland China.
