The Hubei Economy and Information Technology Commission recently published an action plan for the development of the next-generation information technology industry, stating that the annual output value of the industry will strive to exceed one trillion yuan, and the enterprises with revenue hitting 100 million yuan will reach 700 by 2020 .
According to the action plan, in the next four years, the province will create a new industry pattern focusing on integrated circuit, optical communication, smart terminal and emerging industries.
The plan also specified the goal of having one or two companies whose annual sales revenue will surpass 100 million yuan by 2020.
"The IT industry is one of the province's advantageous traditional industries," said a responsible officer of Hubei Economy and Information Technology Commission. At present, the province's electronic information industry enjoys more than 60 technological innovation platforms of national and provincial levels and the patent applications see an annual growth rate of 20 percent, with primary operating income exceeding 500 billion yuan.
