On March 6, 12 key projects were signed to settle in the Optics Valley, reaching a contracted investment of 34.5 billion yuan.
The 12 projects cover areas of optical communication, laser, biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, internet, e-business and finance.
Four people and two organizations, including the president of Hubei Association of Northern California, chairman of Weipeng Group and Japanese Association of Hubei Province were appointed as the “investment ambassadors of Optics Valley ”.
To further cut the cost of investment and operation for enterprises, the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (a.k.a Optics Valley), will publish several opinions to support investment, formulate policies to support foreign invested enterprises, the central enterprises, Headquarters, free trade area, Industry, talents, finance and intellectual property rights as well as to develop rewarding methods for intermediary services.
In 2017, the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone plans to bring in 50 projects with investment exceeding 100 million yuan, among which, the 10-million-yuan projects will amount to three, and eight projects relating to the world’s top 500 enterprises. In the following five years, the total investment of the zone is expected to exceed 400 billion yuan.
