L’Oreal builds a zero-carbon plant in Yichang, Hubei

Yichang Tianmei Plant was announced to be the first zero-carbon plant of L’Oreal APAC on Oct. 10, 2015, local media reported.

At present, L’Oreal Group has three plants in China’s Suzhou, Guangzhou and Yichang. The Yichang Tianmei Plant is the largest makeup production center of L’Oreal APAC.
L’Oreal signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yichang municipal government in 2015 to initiate a zero carbon emission project in Yichang Tianmei Plant. At present, all the energy used by the plant is 100 percent hydropower. 

According to a third-party environmental consultant company, Yichang Tianmei Plant has realized zero carbon emission since September.

The L’Oreal Group is a French cosmetics and beauty company, headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine. It is the world’s largest cosmetics company, and has a registered office in Paris. It has developed activities in the field of cosmetics, concentrating on hair color, skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfumes and hair care.
