The Optics Valley has enjoyed 12,876 new market subjects and 9,863 enterprises since the beginning of this year, both rising by 30 percent year on year, according to the latest statistics released by Wuhan East Lake High-tech Zone on October 11, 2016.
It means that there are 59 enterprises given birth in Optics Valley on each working day, based on the number, the new enterprises in the region are expected to exceed 12,000 in 2016.
The rapidly rising high-tech industry of Optics Valley is helped by innovation and entrepreneurship. In recent three years, the investment in new industries has amounted up to more than 120 billion yuan, adding with the settlement of a large batch of key projects, such as the national memery base, China Star, Wuhan Tianma, Lenovo, Huawei, etc.
During the national 12th Five-Year Plan, an industrial structure that integrates the photoelectron, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy & environmental protection and modern services has been formed here.
Meanwhile, the optical Valley is actively developing new sectors such as the Internet +, Virtual Reality system & Augmented Reality technology, artificial intelligence, all-optical network and quantum communication.
The patent is also one of the indicators referred to innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2015, the Optics Valley filed in nealy 16,000 patent applications, of which, the invention patents accounted for 9,000. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
