The container ship of fast container route linking Wuhan of central China’s Hubei with Japan and South Korea started its maiden voyage from Wuhan Yangluo New Port on September 28, 2015, becoming the third near-sea container line in this city.
The shipping line cut the average export transport time between Wuhan and Japan from 11-16 days to 8 days and that between Wuhan and South Korea from 12 -16 days to 7 days.
In 2014, Wuhan saw 1.88 billion U.S.dollars and 810 million U.S.dollars with Janpan and South Korea in foreign trade, respectively. The imported and exported volumes enjoyed an annual growth rate of more than 30 percent, accounting for 30,000 TEUs and 15,000 TEUs.
The new line is expected to make contribution to a larger trade scale between Wuhan and the two countries as well as the substantial growth of economic exchanges between China’s central and western regions and Northeast Asia.
