CBBC brainstorms for Wuhan’s PPP development

The seminar on PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) projects, brought by Stephen Phillips, CEO of China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) with the related senior experts, was held in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, on December 10, 2015.

At the seminar, advanced experience and successful cases were shared; discussion on opportunities and challenges that would occour when Wuhan adopts PPP mode in the fields of urban infrastructure and public facilities was carried out.

PPP mode will give great impetus to local government funding. Especially, Wuhan is currently in the period of massive construction. PPP mode could shorten the time for Wuhan via introducing in social capital, Stephen Phillips said .

Nick Whittingham, the British consul general in Wuhan, noted that PPP mode has entered into UK for over 20 years. It was hoped that UK’s expericence and lessons could give suggestions to Wuhan.

This event was jointly held by Wuhan Municipal Financial Bureau, China-Britain Business Council, Foreign and Commonwealth Office and UK Trade & Investment.
