135 containers of auto parts were shipped to Yangshang Port in Shanghai from Junshan Port in Wuhan, marking the river-sea transportation direct route in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) was officially put into use on August 26, 2016. The 135 containers will be exported to Iran.

As introduced, WEDZ produces more than one million cars, 10 million air-conditioners and a great deal of food and beverage every year. The new river-sea transportation direct route could greatly reduce logistics costs for enterprises.

Covering an area of 14.12 square kilometers, the port logistics park of WEDZ includes three port logistics zones, namely, Zhuankou, Junshan and Tongjin. At present, 20 berths have been built and cargos from Sichuan, Chongqing, Henan, Hunan, Shannxi, etc. could be transferred here.
