iFlytek to build another headquarters in Optical Valley

iFlytek, a Chinese industry leader in voice-recognition, plans to set up another headquarters in East Lake High-tech Development Zone in Wuhan, Hubei province.
Chen Yixin, secretary of the Communist Party of China Wuhan Committee, met with Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFlytek on May 15 and expressed his welcome on behalf of the Wuhan government.

Chen claimed that Wuhan will make efforts to attract research and development institutions from both home and abroad.

"I welcome iFlytek to come and build its second headquarters in Wuhan and improve the industrial development system for artificial intelligence,” Chen said.

"The Wuhan government will give strong support for research and development institutions, such as iFlytek to do business in Optical Valley,” he added.

iFlytek, established in 1999, plays a leading role in core artificial intelligence technologies such as speech synthesis, speech recognition, natural language processing and machine translation. The company also makes productions for use in intelligent city building and intelligent medical care services.

In 2016, the total revenue of iFlytek hit 3.32 billion yuan ($484 million) and the company had a market value of 50 billion yuan.
