Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), which is located in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, built the Joint Laboratory of Digital Shipbuilding in partnership with Siemens PLM Software on August 28, 2014.
Luo Jun, Academician, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of HUST, and Haubrock, Global Vice President of Siemens PLM Software, unveiled for the laboratory.
The two sides will focus on the information technology and digital based solutions to train the high-level talents for the construction of China's marine power, and give impetus to the upgrading of shipbuilding industry.
At the unveiling ceremony, Siemens donated software which cost more than 37 million U.S.dollars to the laboratory. The software is of the world’s advanced industrilization integrated with ship design, construction, management and maintenance.(hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
