The signing and unveiling ceremony of establishing Nobel Laureate Scientific Workstation between Professor Hartmut Michel and Wuhan Huamei Biotech was held in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Hubei province, on Dec 21.
The workstation will be set up in Optics Valley of China, being the first of its kind in Wuhan.
Hartmut Michel is a German biochemist, who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1988. He has been engaged in membrane protein research for a long period of time.
Wuhan Huamei Biotech, based in Optics Valley of China, is a world leading company in the fields including in vitro diagnosis and food safety testing. It is the main force in the bio health industry in the zone.
The workstation will serve as a technical cooperation carrier between both sides, promoting transformation of innovation achievements made by the professor and his team in Optics Valley of China, as well as integrating world’s top technologies and regional high-quality industrial resources.
Professor Hartmut Michel and Wuhan Huamei Biotech will cooperate to develop a series of antibodies to promote development of new drugs, so as to help develop Wuhan’s precision medicine.
In addition, the professor intends to introduce more scientists and European companies to Optics Valley of China, to cooperate in more fields.
