Wuhan Sino-French eco-city to lay a foundation in October

Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City, which had attracted much attention, planned to hold a groundbreaking ceremony in Houguan Lake in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, in late October.

On Mar 26 this year, China and France signed an agreement, pledging to co-build the project of ecological demonstration city in Wuhan. At present, the eco-city was decided to be settled in Houguan Lake area in Wuhan’s Caidian District, covering an area of 30 square kilometers.

Wuhan scheduled to hold the Sino-French Forum on Sustainable City in late October, during which experts from China and France would discuss about the topic of “Wuhan, a sustainable city”.

Meanwhile, 250 architecture majors from European universities would come to Wuhan to build a floating city on the lake in Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City, together with architecture majors from Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

After Wuhan’s promotion film was broadcasted in New York, “the Window of Wuhan” would be set up in mid-June at the China Culture Center in Paris for a long term, where the Wuhan scenery photo exhibition, intangible cultural heritages exhibition, tourism promotion, propaganda film broadcasting, WTA Wuhan Open promotion and Han embroidery will be presented and introduced.
