IKEA, a world-known furniture company, officially opened its new store in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei province on September 17, 2014.
As the 16th store in China but the unique one located in China’s central region, Wuhan IKEA received a hot pursuit since its opening.
It was reported that Wuhan IKEA has a total area of 46,000 square meters, involving the home furnishings area of 7,000 square meters, 668-seat dining area and 1,368 free parking spaces. It could provide more than 8,000 kinds of home products for 10,000 customers at a time.
IKEA, founded in Sweden in 1943, is a Dutch company registered in the Netherlands that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture (such as beds, chairs and desks), appliances and home accessories. As of January 2008, the company is the world's largest furniture retailer. The company is known for its modern architectural designs for various types of appliances and furniture, and its interior design work is often associated with an eco-friendly simplicity. As of September 2014, IKEA owns and operates 351 stores in 43 countries.
