Wireless power transmission research center unveiled in OVC

Updated: 2018-01-29

A wireless power transmission engineering technology center was unveiled in Future City of East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei province, on Jan 19.

Jointly established by Wuhan Institute of New Energy and the Technology Transfer Center of Wuhan University, the center focuses on the promotion, application, research and development of new intelligent wireless power transmission technology.

Based on mechanisms including resonant magnetic coupling, microwave and infrared rays, the center can realize high-efficiency, long-distance and intelligent wireless power transmission, making electricity supplies safer and more convenient.

The technologies used in the center can be applied in areas including internet of things sensory devices, smartphones, unmanned aerial vehicles, industrial robots, and electric vehicles.
