Representatives from Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) visited the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on April 11, to seek cooperation in the intelligent manufacturing sector.
At the meeting, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on establishing a workstation for developing the robotics industry and setting up a research institute for the robotics and artificial intelligence sector.
The School of Mechanical Science and Engineering at HUST is experienced in the robotics field, and participated in hosting the annual World Robot Conference.
Representatives from WHDZ introduced the development of the zone, and outlined their expectations of long-term cooperation between the two sides, especially in robotics, artificial intelligence and the intelligent manufacturing industries.
They also visited the school’s digital national laboratory.
Peng Fangyu, vice-director of the school, said that the current research direction in the robotics and artificial intelligence sectors of the two sides tally with each other, and that the school will make full use of its resources to help develop WHDZ’s robotics sector.
