Updated: 2018-03-06

A delegation led by Gui Yonghua, consul-general of France in Wuhan, visited Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Hubei province, on March 2, to explore ways to increase cooperation with the zone.

The delegation visited Optics Valley Exhibition Center and the exhibition hall of East Lake Free Trade Zone, to learn about the policy measures of the free trade zone to encourage foreign investment.

They also visited a production line at a workshop owned by Air Liquide (Wuhan) Company, which is a French firm in Optics Valley of China.

Liu Ziqing, director of the zone’s administrative committee, said that some French-funded enterprises have settled in the zone, such as Saint-Gobain and Schneider.

The zone is to strengthen cooperation with French companies, and improve its services to create a good international business environment, added Liu.

Gui Yonghua recommended some French companies to the zone, and expressed hopes of deeper cooperation between the two sides in areas such as transportation, biomedicine, culture, trade and logistics.
