Cheng Yongwen, secretary of the Party working committee at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), Wuhan, Hubei province, visited some key internet companies in the zone with other officials, on March 6.
They visited companies and product exhibition areas of Hikvision, iFLYTEK and Xiaohongshu, to learn about their development and problems.
Hikvision is the country’s leading video surveillance company, and it will invest 3.5 billion yuan ($553.5 million) in Optics Valley of China to build the largest research and development base in the country.
iFLYTEK is a national key software enterprise dedicated to the research of intelligent speech and language technologies, and it plans to invest 5 billion yuan in the zone to build its headquarters for Wuhan and its research and development center in the country.
Xiaohongshu, the largest community e-commerce platform in the world, will build its second headquarters in Optics Valley of China, integrating functions such as research, development and operations.
Cheng said that the zone would fully support the development of the three companies.
In recent years, Optics Valley of China has been developing the digital sector, with more than 1,800 internet companies in the zone, featuring industries including live streaming, internet education, and network security.
