With a registered capital of 2.8 billion yuan ($442.48 million) in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China), on Feb 28, China National Medical Equipment Company (CMDC) formally relocated its headquarters from Beijing to the zone’s Biolake in Wuhan, Hubei province.
CMDC in Optics Valley of China will set up two business clusters of product services and distribution services, creating a first-class medical equipment service provider in China.
Being the core part for the development of the medical equipment distribution business of China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm), CDMC was founded in 1966 and is the largest-scale medical equipment distribution company in China, with more than 140 subsidiaries serving more than 6,000 hospitals in the country.
CMDC is the third core business sector that Sinopharm has set up headquarters for in Optics Valley of China, after its pharmaceutical engineering department and animal healthcare department.
In 2017, CMDC achieved annual revenues of 30.7 billion yuan.
In 2018, CMDC is targeting revenues of 50 billion yuan, which would make it the biggest earner among bio companies in Optics Valley of China.
By the end of 2020, CMDC will have achieved annual revenues of over 100 billion yuan, contributing to Optics Valley of China’s goal of exceeding 300 billion yuan in total revenues for the zone’s bio industry.
