East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley) in Wuhan, Hubei province is to introduce a national research and development headquarters of Iflytek Co, according to a cooperation agreement signed on Aug 31.
Iflytek will invest 5 billion yuan ($766 million) to build a wholly owned subsidiary in Optics Valley and develop it into its national research center by cooperating with Wuhan government in fields including artificial intelligence, information security, education and automobiles.
Founded in 1999, Iflytek is a key national software enterprise dedicated to artificial intelligence research and intelligent speech and language technologies, developing speech information services and e-government systems.
As a leading provider of intelligent speech technology, Iflytek has international achievements in many core technologies including speech synthesis, speech recognition, oral language evaluation, and natural language processing.
