Construction of an international ice and snow sports tourism town started in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), central China’s Hubei province, on May 9.
During May, a total of five projects will start construction in WHDZ, with total investment of 8.8 billion yuan ($1.38 billion).
With investment of 5.2 billion yuan from Orsun Group, a conglomerate engaged in the real estate industry, the tourism town project is the first ice and snow themed town in central China.
With two phases of construction, the project contains a five-star hotel, ski resorts, indoor hockey areas, and a designated area for international schools.
The town is expected to open to the public in June 2020.
During the first five months of this year, construction on 23 projects started in WHDZ with a total investment of 66.58 billion yuan, and 11 projects with investment of 3.82 billion yuan have been put into operation.
