Georges Plassat, chairman and CEO of Carrefour, visited Hubei on January 22 to boost the project of establishing central China headquarters logistics base in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province.
At present, Carrefour runs 10 stores in Hubei and has achieved good performance. The logistics base under construction will deploy commodities for 35 Carrefour supermarkets in central China after completed, with the annual distribution value exceeding 20 billion Yuan (3.2 billion U.S. dollars).
Plassat said that Hubei enjoys high reputation in France and has made remarkable achievements in recent years. Taking the opportunity of establishing the central China headquarters logistics base, Carrefour Group will increase investment in Hubei and continue to strengthen links between farmers and supermarkets by cooperating with agricultural cooperatives.
