8 national high-tech zones reaches developing consensus in Wuhan

The seven national high-tech zones, Beijing Zhongguancun, Shanghai Zhangjiang, and the industrial parks in Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi’an, Hangzhou and Suzhou, achieved developing consensus in partnership with the China Optics Valley in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province on June 13.

The consensus was achieved in a bid to accelerate innovation drives and construct world - class high - tech parks. With this target, they agreed to carry out reformation in system and mechanism as well as make continous creativity in technology, management, organization and business model.

Relying on innovation drives, Beijing Zhongguancun grossed 360 billion yuan (57.9 billion U.S.dollars) last year, with a growth rate of 18.2 percent, and a proportion of 23.2 percent in Beijing’s economy. Meanwhile, Xi'an high-tech zone earned an operation income of 110 billion yuan (17.7 billion U.S.dollars) last year and imports and exports totaled 115.3 billion yuan (18.57 billion U.S.dollars), accouting for 68 percent of the whole province.

In addition, from January to May of this year, Wuhan East Lake High - Tech Zone generally took in 334.6 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of nearly 20 percent. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
