Source: hubei.gov.cn

The Wuhan New District Industrial Multiplier Conference on June 7 2012 has witnessed a remarkable milestone of Wuhan industry development. Utilization of industrial land have volumed up from 60 square kilometers to 231 square kilometers, with 20.12 billion Yuan invested in infrastructure construction for 6 industrial demonstration zones in just 5 months this year.

Wuhan have ushered into a new era of industrial blossom.

A multiplier of industrialization
Being the beacon of investment attraction, industrial zone has evolved into an impetus for business clusters. Based on the notion of industrialization multiplier, a grand picture of industrial zone is on the map, describing one demonstration zone for each of the 6 new urban district and 3 downtown district laying across the 3 rd Ring Express Way. Jiangan District will be included this year.

A more efficient progress
It only takes half a year for the demonstration zones to take shape. The average input of each demonstration zone is about 3-4 billion Yuan. With tight budget, local government lay much effort in financing, contracting and inward investment.

Shanghai General Motor, Lenovo and Chow Tai Fook have settled in with projects over 5 billion Yuan. Industrial input expanded 60 percent in the first five months of this year, which is in the leading position of 19 sub-provincial cities nationwide.

A more friendlier environment
Situated in the middle of business clusters, land has become precious resources. According to local officials, utilization of land in demonstration zone will adhere to the concept of scientific and  sustainable development. As the carrier of economy booster in central China, demonstration zones will embrace projects in a green way with less pollutant emissions.

A new historic watershed
Wuhan industry had experienced three stages with an industrial zone of hundreds of square kilometers and a rewrite of industrial distribution which are rare in Wuhan history.  The first stage was in the 1950's, which sparked light to Wuhan industry development. The second stage saw the revitalization of light industry in the 1970's. The third stage marked the sprout of electronic information and automobile industry, featuring the birth of East Lake Development Zone and Wuhan Economic Development Zone.

The layout of "6+4"for new urban districts and downtown districts will generate trillions of output value in the near future, which translates into two times of Wuhan GDP in total. This is a solid foundation to boost economic growth in Wuhan Metropolitan Clusters and along Yangtze River delta.
