Alibaba to build Wuhan Industrial Belt

Alibaba, the largest online-business operator in China, signed an agreement with Wuhan Commerce Bureau and Zall North Hankou E-commerce Company on October 10 to jointly construct Alibaba Wuhan Industrial Belt, so as to drive the transformation and upgrading of Wuhan traditional commerce industry and trade.

Alibaba Wuhan Industrial Belt aims to move a batch of reputable Wuhan online wholesalers in north Hankou to Alibaba 1688, the world’s largest wholesale and purchase website, for centralized demonstration and trade. The industrial belt will provide online daily operation and management services such as account registration, online store decoration, product packaging, etc for enterprises.

Wuhan has become the core city in Alibaba’s 2014 e-commerce development strategy layout. The Zall North Hankou E-commerce Company plans to invest 90 million Yuan (US$ 14.69 million) within three years to cultivate and support 50 commercial tenants with annual trade volume above 100 million Yuan (US$ 16.32 million), 200 commercial tenants with annual trade volume above 20 million Yuan (US$ 3.26 million), and 1000 commercial tenants with annual trade volume above 1 million Yuan (US$ 163,214.68).
